New Years eve

Happy new year to all....
After a tense Xmas on my part I was not really looking forward to the new year and had expected to be in bed before 12pm the way I was feeling but as it turns out I had a really good evening!!!

My sister and husband and nephew popped in for a cuppa and we had a good chat whilst the kids tried out a calligraphy set I had got for Milly ,I didn't buy it with the intention that Milly would actually have to do the exercises but she does love to write in ink so anything that gives her some enjoyment whilst doing a bit of writing seemed a good idea and as time goes on she may be more interested in the actual art of calligraphy. They both got a lot of enjoyment trying the pens out.

After a rather disappointing turkey Birianhi that I had put together we settled down to play a 4 in a row tournament, Emily was champion ( Alan really didn't let her win this time) we have had a bit of a love hate relationships with games as Emily had a hard time losing but over time and with immense patience things are improving and we can have a good time even when she does lose.

Then we went through to watch spice girls and you've been framed followed by the Vicar of Dibley story. Milly was hoping to stay up but was tired so I went up with her and after I spy whilst she got ready in the bedroom and then more chatting and reading in bed she settled down but after I/2 an hour she was still wide awake so we went back down again and watched the end of the Graham Norton Quiz and then Jools Holland.Emily loves the Kaiser Chiefs and she was on top form dancing and making intricate designs with her Geo mags that then became items of jewellery and headdresses, we Had a great time and all went to bed at around 12.45.
I do love it when the unexpected happens !!!!

Hi Lynn. Happy New Year! I only just discovered that you had started last week and I know I started making a comment but now I can't remember if I ever finished it. So forgive me if I've already said this (I think I probably have) but congratulations!! I'm so glad I'll be able to keep up with your own journey now. It sounds like you guys had a great first day of 2008! :)

Thanks Colleen,
As I have now got the basics down!! I am enjoying creating this blog, I have no experience in writing anything since school many many years ago but decided that through my ramblings someone might just find something that makes a difference, and that would be a good enough reason alongside a good way to document our journey..
Hope your planned trip comes off sounds fantastic, what a great learning experience!!!
